We provide a comprehensive range of home maintenance services, including essential repairs, professional installations, minor carpentry, quality painting, dedicated lawn maintenance, and general home upkeep. We are committed to growth; we have active plans to expand our services to include General Pest Control, Termite Control, Pest Inspections, Electrical, and Plumbing. What areas do you service?
We proudly service the entire Mackay and Mackay Region. We have active plans in place to strategically expand our service coverage beyond this area in the near future.
Can you help with after-hours emergency repairs?
Yes, we are equipped to assist with after-hours emergencies. This includes critical issues such as broken windows, leaky roofs, and hazardous fallen vegetation, ensuring your property is secured promptly.
Do you handle both residential and commercial projects?
Absolutely. NQ Homewise caters to the maintenance and repair needs of both residential homeowners and commercial clients, offering the same high standard of professionalism to all.
Is my job too small or too big for you to handle?
No job is too small for us to consider. We are happy to assist clients with a wide variety of tasks. For large-scale projects, while we currently do not undertake high-end renovation or major construction projects, we encourage you to contact us to discuss the scope. If we cannot manage it, we may be able to provide a referral.

Yes. All quotes and estimates are provided free of charge to both prospective and existing clients, regardless of the project size or complexity. We believe in transparent pricing from the start.
How do I get a quote or estimate for my project?
You can easily request a quote or estimate via our online web form, or you can call us directly during business hours. One of our friendly and knowledgeable representatives will be happy to discuss your specific requirements.
Do I need to pay a deposit? If so, how much?
For general maintenance and small jobs, a deposit is not typically required. However, larger projects may require a deposit ranging from 10% to 20% of the total cost, which may increase depending on the material and quantity required. NQ Homewise operates in strict accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and Queensland Laws, focusing on fairness and reasonableness in all financial dealings.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We currently accept Cash, Debit Card, and Credit Card (tap and go for small jobs under $1,000). We also accept Electronic Bank Transfers and can arrange Invoicing for commercial clients.
Do you charge for travel time?
We do not charge for travel time within the immediate Mackay city limits. For locations outside of the Mackay city limits, a reasonable travel cost will be incurred. This cost is calculated based on the distance and will be clearly outlined in your quote. Please contact our office for a precise cost estimate for your location.

Are you a registered and insured company?
Absolutely. NQ Homewise is a fully registered Proprietary Limited (Pty. Ltd.) company. We carry full comprehensive public liability insurance up to $20,000,000.00. This robust coverage ensures all work performed and your valuable assets are fully protected, giving you complete confidence and peace of mind.
Will the NQ HomeWise technician working on my property be trade qualified?
NQ HomeWise only utilises carefully vetted, highly skilled trade professionals with extensive experience across the construction industry, ranging from civil projects to multi-level commercial and residential builds. For any project that requires an expert touch, you can trust our team’s qualifications.
Are you Certified for work health and safety?
Yes. NQ Homewise is fully Work Health and Safety (WHS) certified. All our operations are governed by our robust Health and Safety Management System and conducted in strict accordance with all applicable Queensland WHS Legislation, Codes of Practice, and relevant Australian Laws. Your safety, and the safety of our team, is non-negotiable.

Yes, we proudly guarantee all our work. This guarantee covers skilled craftsmanship and the quality of materials used, reflecting our commitment to excellence and instilling confidence in all our clients.

How can I book a service?
You can book a service quickly and effortlessly online via our dedicated booking system. A representative will then be in touch to confirm and finalise the details. Alternatively, you may call our office directly during business hours to make your booking over the phone.
How quickly can you schedule a job?
We strive to schedule general and small jobs on the same day or at the earliest possible availability, at a time that is convenient for you. This is highly dependent on the current volume of bookings and customer demand at the time.
How far in advance do I need to book a service?
We recommend booking in advance to ensure we meet your timelines. For small jobs, same-day or a couple of days’ notice is usually sufficient. For larger, more complex jobs, please allow for one to two weeks’ notice to ensure proper planning and material sourcing.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
You are free to cancel any general and small maintenance jobs at any time. For jobs where a deposit was paid, NQ HomeWise will provide a full refund of the deposit, unless materials have already been sourced from suppliers. In that case, the cost of the materials will be deducted from the deposit, and the remaining balance will be promptly refunded to you. The Client must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a booking.
Do I need to be home while you are working?
If our work is purely external and does not require property access, your presence is at your discretion. However, if we need to access the interior of your home, a person aged 18 years or over must be present on the property.
Do I need to provide the materials, or will you purchase them?
You do not need to provide any materials. We can efficiently source high-quality materials directly from our suppliers, often at a reduced cost, which works out to be more cost-effective for you. However, if you already have suitable materials available, we are happy to utilise them and pass the associated cost savings on to you. All materials supplied by the client must be fit for purpose. NQ HomeWise is not liable for defects caused by client-supplied materials.
Can I book recurring maintenance visits?
Yes, and we highly encourage it! Booking regular, recurring maintenance services not only helps keep your property in top shape year-round but also allows us to identify hidden or underlying issues before they become major, costly problems. This proactive approach can potentially save you thousands of dollars in future repair bills.
